He explained that he had requested a number of documents in digital form in the process of awarding this hero title.Marsini also asked for prayers from the public for his younger brother.
“I specifically ask for prayers. Because Marsinah has no children. So I pray because the results have been enjoyed by my friends. I ask for prayers for Marsinah who has sacrificed herself,” he said.
Marsini then confirmed that he would attend the awarding of the title of national hero which will be held today.
Marsini confessed after hearing the news that President Prabowo would award the title of national hero to his younger brother who died in the labor struggle in 1993.
Marsini describes the first moment he learned the news.He received information from the media and a number of journalists in early May 2025, just in time to commemorate May Day.
“I was tired at that time, because I was preparing for a gathering of Marsinah’s friends at home to commemorate May Day. Suddenly there were journalists who informed me. Honestly, I was very moved and couldn’t believe it,” he said quoting

Marsini said that since then he and his family have been careful about responding to the news because many parties have contacted him, both journalists and regional officials.Meanwhile, the determination process is still ongoing.
“I was afraid of saying the wrong thing. So, I waited until everything was absolutely certain. Thank God, now it is clear that the title of national hero will be officially awarded,” he said.
Remembering Marsinah who died at the age of 24, he admitted that he was proud and touched because his sister’s struggle was now recognized by the state.Moreover, Marsinah’s life at that time was very difficult economically.
Marsini also revealed that Marsinah’s struggle was not only limited to fighting for workers’ wages, but also the courage of a woman who demanded social justice.
He said that Marsinah’s enthusiasm for upholding justice had been visible since she was young.Marsinah had dreamed of studying law so she could defend the poor, but her family’s economic conditions meant that her dream could not be achieved.
As a result, Marsinah worked as a laborer at PT CPS in Porong, Sidoarjo, East Java.
Ahead of the award ceremony at the State Palace, Marsini also explained how complicated the administrative and verification process had to be through before Marsinah’s name was declared a national hero.
He also expressed his thanks to all parties who encouraged and assisted this process, including regional officials and labor activists.
Marsini hopes that this title will be a reminder to the younger generation about the importance of fighting for workers’ rights and maintaining a spirit of solidarity.
