The Mali U-23 National Team coach, Fousseni Diawara, expressed his appreciation to
U-23 Indonesian National Team
who is preparing to appear at the 2025 SEA Games.
The Indonesian U-23 national team faced Mali in a test match as preparation before meeting Southeast Asian rivals at the end of this year.
After losing 0-3 in the first meeting, Saturday (15/11), the Red and White squad was able to hold Mali 2-2 in the second match, Tuesday (18/11).

Diawara also gave a positive assessment to Indra Sjafri’s foster children.
“They punished us. We tried to get up, but it was very difficult. This was a very interesting match. But, we are happy with our performance. However, Indonesia is a very good team. They are at the same level as us,” said Diawara in a press conference after the match at Pakansari Stadium, Bogor.
“I’m happy with our team’s performance. But, they punished us. We played very well, but they were very effective. They punished us. This was a good match,” he continued.
Diawara also praised the tactical development of his players and hopes to meet Indonesia again in the future.
“Tactically, our players played very well. I am very happy. This is a good experience for the team, for Mali. We hope to play against Indonesia again later. Maybe, we don’t know,” said Diawara.
This draw is an evaluation capital for the Indonesian U-23 National Team ahead of appearing at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand next December.
