stated that the Malaysian government would not cover up the player naturalization case carried out by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) and would also demand clarity.
Malaysia is in the world spotlight because of the naturalization process they are carrying out this year.The wave of naturalizations they carried out this year was accompanied by doubts about the players’ origins and lineages.
FIFA then released the results of the investigation, including original documents of the descendants of players naturalized by Malaysia.Now, FAM is filing an appeal regarding this matter.

Anwar stated that he would not obstruct the investigation into this case.Anwar also thinks this case should be opened as openly as possible.Because of this, the government is also conducting an investigation.

“I understand that the public is impatient and wants immediate action… they say we are not acting, but we have to let it go through the normal process,” Anwar added.
Anwar Ibrahim also emphasized that the Malaysian government has never neglected sports development, including football.Because of this, Anwar hopes that local football seeds will also be noticed and sharpened.
“I am also a sports fan. Ideally we need to develop local talent and we have channeled funds for this purpose,” said Anwar.
