Malaysia managed to go home with a bronze medal in hand.In the match for bronze against the Philippines, Malaysia successfully ended the match with a 2-1 win.
“If we follow the story of the SEA Games journey, from the beginning of the preparations to now, we can write a book about the twists and turns of this team’s journey.”

“[Stock] Players are never enough, a number of players come in, some leave, some are undergoing sanctions, and some are also injured,” said Nafuzi as quoted by Berita Harian.
Under these conditions, Nafuzi likened the SEA Games to a war arena for the players.A number of players had to survive to fight on the field despite suffering from a number of injuries.
“Until the end, it was like we were on a role playing field. There were players using sticks, with bandaged shoulders.”
“All of this is sacrifice and struggle for the country which I feel is something to be proud of,” said Nafuzi.
Before winning against the Philippines, Malaysia lost to Thailand in the semifinals.Malaysia lost 0-1 when they had to play with 10 men from the early minutes of the first half because of the red card received by Aiman Yusuf in the 16th minute.
