confirmed that he was on hiatus from playing horror films after being busy with various film titles for the past year.
Throughout 2025, Luna Maya will star in at least a number of horror films, starting from Gundik which was released in May, Jalan Pulang in June, and Sukma in September.

There is only one film outside of horror starring Luna Maya this year, namely GJLS: Ibuku Ibu-Ibu, which will be released in June 2025 and is a family comedy film.
“I’m actually going on hiatus next year,” said Luna Maya, as reported by detikHot on Saturday (13/12).”I’m already like a year ahead.”
“Except for really good projects that might come back again, which seems tempting. Not tempting, which maybe I’ve never gotten before,” said Luna Maya.
“But if it’s just horror again, horror again, maybe I’ll have done it for now. I’m going on hiatus for now. In the meantime, I want to focus on business and personal first,” said Luna Maya.”I’m afraid people will get bored of seeing me in horror all the time.”
Luna Maya admits that this year’s filming schedule is actually not as busy as it seems, because it was not filmed in the same year as the release.
However, because the release of the horror films he starred in was close to each other because it was still during the holidays, it felt very busy.
“Actually, if you say it’s solid, it’s not my authority and it’s my decision, I didn’t actually shoot it in the same year,” said Luna Maya.
“There were only a few moments when the film was released in the same year. So it seemed really busy, and yes, it was about time that I decided to go on hiatus and be more selective,” he continued.

Luna Maya first became involved in the world of horror in 2004 through Bangsal 13, but her name became increasingly associated with horror after successfully playing the role of the Indonesian horror queen, mediang Suzzanna, in Suzzanna: Breathing in Graves (2018).
Just as Suzzanna, Luna Maya has starred in two titles, namely Breathing in Graves (2018) and Kliwon Friday Night (2023).There is still more Sintet Sin di Atas Sin which was originally scheduled for release in 2025, but has been postponed to 2026.
