Chicho Lorenzo is happy to see the competition in the 2025 MotoGP competition, especially with Marc Marquez’s return to form in his debut season with Ducati.
This season Marquez has dominated.The racer nicknamed The Baby Alien also confirmed the 2025 MotoGP title at the Japanese MotoGP with five races remaining.

However, Chicho’s feelings changed after Marquez had an accident at the 2025 Mandalika MotoGP which kept him out until the end of the season.
After the 2025 MotoGP ended in Valencia, Chicho assessed that the current MotoGP racers were no longer as great as Valentino Rossi, Dani Pedrosa, Casey Stoner, Jorge Lorenzo, even Marc Marquez.Marquez is considered the last man of the era of great racers.
“And this season is a brilliant ending. People like Rossi, Pedrosa, Stoner, Lorenzo and Marquez. We can see them on the track, we can see them competing, and we miss them,” said Chicho, quoted from

“We saw that even after Marquez left, the riders we had on the track were still far from the level of those five great racers,” added Chicho.
Even so, the mention of these five great racers does not mean that Chicho ignores the achievements of previous era MotoGP racers.
“With all due respect to [Giacomo] Agostini, Angel Nieto, Mike Hailwood, and several others who are also very great. But in this century, these first 25 years, we have had world-class racers who have achieved extraordinary records and statistics, placing them among the top ten in history,” said Chicho.
