Yellow labels were found on some of the logs.Apart from the words Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, there is also a company name on the label called PT Minas Pagai Lumber.
Then under the barcode on the label there is the SVLK Indonesia logo.SVLK is a Timber Legality Verification System.The police are still investigating the wood by examining the ship’s crew.

Helfi asked all parties to wait for the completion of the investigation process carried out by the Lampung Police Special Criminal Investigation Directorate Team.

Thousands of various types of wood were stranded because a barge belonging to PT Bintang Ronmas Jakarta ran aground on November 6 2025. The wood was brought from the West Sumatra region to be sent to Java.
Deforestation on the West Coast of Lampung
Lampung Regional Police conducted an investigation into forest logging practices in Pesisir Barat Regency.As a result, officers arrested three perpetrators, namely workers and foremen.
Director of Ditreskrimsus Polda Lampung Kombes Dery Agung Wijaya said that the three of them are still being investigated.
“For logging activities in the West Coast area, we have visited the location and currently activities there (West Coast) have been stopped,” said Dery quoted from

“There we arrested three people who were at the location at that time and carrying out activities there,” he continued.
Regarding the status of the three, Dery explained that the three people arrested were workers and foremen.
“There are still three people, one worker, one operator and one who ordered or foreman. They are still witnesses,” he said.
He added that in the process of investigating the case, his party involved the Ministry of Forestry to determine whether the logging point was in a protected forest area or not.
“All processes are still ongoing, we have also coordinated with the Forestry Service and the Ministry of Forestry. So please be patient, we will continue to convey the progress of this investigation,” he said.
Previously, a video circulated of a number of men carrying out alleged forest logging activities.This incident occurred in Pesisir Barat Regency, Lampung Province.
In the video circulating, two men can be seen cutting pieces of wood that are lined up in a hilly location.There were many large logs lying at the location.
This activity occurred in the Pugung Penengahan area, Pesisir Utara District, Pesisir Barat Regency.
Local residents asked for this activity to be stopped because they were afraid it would cause natural disasters such as those that occurred in West Sumatra, North Sumatra and Aceh.
