Head of BPBD Aceh Singkil Husni said a number of bridges and connecting roads in the area were broken and only some areas could be passed via alternative routes using tall vehicles.
The worst thing is that access from North Singkil District to Singkil District is completely cut off.

“We have the remaining logistics stock for tomorrow. If we don’t come tomorrow, the refugees will be threatened with starvation,” said Husni when confirmed, Monday (1/12) afternoon.
Until today, no aid from outside Aceh Singkil has entered the area.Assistance only came modestly from residents of Aceh Singkil who were not affected by severe flooding.
His party is also having difficulty coordinating with the Aceh and Central Governments because communication access has been cut off and electricity has been out since the last week.
“We are having difficulty communicating, here the electricity has been out and communication access has been lost for a week. We ask for help from the government to speed up the delivery of aid,” he said.
So far there are 11 sub-districts in Aceh Singkil that have been affected with a total of 21 thousand refugees, but some have returned to clean their homes.
Husni said that the impact of flooding and the scarcity of fuel meant that the archipelagic area in Aceh Singkil was also threatened with shortages of basic necessities. There are at least 3 sub-districts in the archipelago area, namely Pulau Banyak, Pulau Banyak Barat and Kuala Baru.
“There is no fuel because the road access has been cut off, so ships carrying basic necessities to the area (islands) have also stopped operating,” he said.
Spokesperson for the Aceh disaster management task force post, Murthalamuddin, claims that assistance has now been received to all regions. However, distribution has problems due to many access being cut off.
“God willing, up to today more than 80 percent have been reached. It’s just not yet sufficient because the helicopter carrying capacity is also limited. The weather is also an obstacle,” he said.
