Libyan Military Commander’s Private Jet Crashes, Black Box Found

succeeded in finding the black box of the Libyan military commander’s private jet which crashed and exploded in Haymana District, Türkiye, on Wednesday (24/12) local time.
The crash killed Libyan military chief Lieutenant General Mohammed Al Haddad and four senior military officials.

The Falcon 50 jet requested Turkey’s Ankara air control tower for an emergency landing after reporting an electrical failure before losing contact.
The wreckage of the plane was found in the Haymana district after losing contact for several minutes.
Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said that the plane’s cockpit data recorder and voice recorder had been recovered.

Al Haddad plans to return to Tripoli after visiting Ankara to meet with a number of Turkish military officials.
There were eight people on board the private jet including the crew and pilot.
Yerlikaya said a number of bodies had been found at the plane crash site.He also added that 22 people who were family and relatives of the victims had flown to Ankara.
“We ask God’s forgiveness for those who died as a result of this tragic accident and express our condolences to the families left behind,” said Yerlikaya.
The private jet Haddad was on took off from Ankara’s Esenboga Airport at 1710 GMT and “contact was lost” 42 minutes later.
Head of Turkey’s Presidential Communications Directorate Burhanettin Duran said the flight crew had “reported an emergency to the air traffic control center due to electrical problems and requested an emergency landing” before contact was lost.
The plane sent a notification requesting an emergency landing near Haymana, about 74 kilometers from Ankara, but communications could not be restored.
