has arrested a number of suspects who set fire to the house of Medan District Court judge Khamozaro Waruwu in Medan, North Sumatra in early November.

Khamozaro was the presiding judge in the road project corruption trial in North Sumatra with the defendant Akhirun Piliang alias Kirun, Main Director of PT Dalihan Natolu Group (DNG), and his son Muhammad Rayhan Dulasmi Piliang alias Rayhan, Director of PT Rona Na Mora (RNM).
This case also involved the former Head of the North Sumatra PUPR Service, Topan Ginting, who is known to be a close person to the Governor of North Sumatra, Bobby Nasution.

1. Four suspects were arrested
Medan Police Chief Commissioner Calvijn Simanjuntak said the four suspects arrested were Fahrul Aziz Siregar, Oloan Hamonangan Simamora, Hariman Sitanggang, and Medy Mehamat Amosta Barus.
“There are four suspects who were arrested and are currently being detained. In this case, 48 witnesses were questioned,” said Calvijn, Friday (21/11).

According to police information, Fahrul was the mastermind behind the robbery and burning of the judge’s house.

3. One suspect is a former driver
One of the suspects, namely Fahrul, is Khamozaro’s former driver.He is suspected of carrying out robbery and arson after being hurt by being dismissed from his job.
Fahrul carried out the theft and arson in just 15 minutes.
“The suspect Fahrul Aziz Siregar deliberately set fire to the victim’s house in just 15 minutes, that was the suspect’s crucial time,” said Calvijn.
4. Secured evidence
Calvijn explained that officers had secured a number of pieces of evidence that supported their investigation.
“For evidence, clothes, helmets, clothing bags, screwdrivers, motorbikes, trousers, shoes, t-shirts, speakers and even gold resulting from theft committed by the suspect were seized,” he said.

Calvijn also explained that plans for robbery and arson had been prepared since October 30 2025.
Fahrul didn’t need long to plan his action because he knew almost every corner of the house when he was still working as a driver.
All this time, Fahrul harbored feelings of hurt towards his boss.
“His role was deliberately and planning to set the fire. The motive was hurt and revenge towards the victim. The suspect, Fahrul Aziz, is the victim’s former driver,” said Calvijn.
