The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported that the number of world victims due to flash floods and landslides increased to 969 people as of Wednesday (10/12).
In detail, in the Aceh region it was reported that there were 391 people, in North Sumatra there were 340 people and in West Sumatra there were 238 people.
Meanwhile, 252 people were missing and in the process of being searched in the three provinces.In detail, in Aceh there were 31 people, in North Sumatra there were 128 people and in West Sumatra there were 93 people.

Deputy Head of the TNI Information Center, Brigadier General TNI Osmar Silalahi, said the number of refugees in the three provinces was recorded at 902,545 people as of last Wednesday.

Mass burial
As many as 24 bodies of flash flood victims in West Sumatra (Sumbar) were buried en masse at Bungus TPU, Teluk Kabung, Padang, Wednesday afternoon.This mass burial was carried out because up to the 12th day after the disaster, the 24 bodies had still not been identified and there was no DNA match with the residents.

West Sumatra Regional Police Chief Inspector General Gatot Tri Suryanta said that as of Wednesday afternoon, the number of victims of the flash flood disaster in West Sumatra was recorded at 351 victims.Of this number, 238 people were found dead and 20 people seriously injured.Meanwhile, 93 people are missing and still being searched for.
Gatot said that of the 238 who died, 24 of them were not identified.
“Six adult men, three adult women, seven boys, four girls and four others in the form of body parts,” he said.
Emergency response extended

Basarin explained that a number of areas that were recommended to extend the Disaster Emergency Response status included South Tapanuli (Tapsel), Central Tapanuli (Tapteng), Sibolga and Langkat.
