A total of four people died in
fire

, a large fire broke out in at least three apartment blocks at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, a district in northern Hong Kong.

“Four people were declared dead, two in critical condition, and one in stable condition,” according to a report by the Hong Kong Information Services Department.
One of the dead was a firefighter, while one man and one woman who collapsed were taken to hospital with severe burns.
In a live local media broadcast, thick plumes of smoke could be seen rising from construction scaffolding on several towers.Several parts of the highway near the location were also closed for firefighting operations.
“Residents in the area are advised to stay indoors, close doors and windows, and remain calm,” the authorities advised.
“The public is also advised not to approach areas affected by the fire,” the appeal continued.
Until now the authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
