Landslide
occurred in Kampung Condong, RT 06-07 RW 09, Wargaluyu Village, Arjasari District, Regency

Land shifting from the slopes of Mount Sinapeul with a height of around 80 meters hit residents’ houses.Five heads of families were affected by the incident.
Pameungpeuk Police Chief, AKP Asep Dedi, said that the landslide was triggered by heavy rainfall which flushed the area from noon to evening.

“There has been a shift in land that hit the houses of five families. The landslide came from the slopes of Mount Sinapeul with unstable soil conditions due to heavy rain,” said Asep.
As a result of this incident, three residents were reported to be still buried by landslide material.They are Aisyah (70), Citra (19), and Alfa (15), students.Meanwhile, another victim, Ramdan (15), was successfully evacuated with a head injury and was immediately rushed to Nambo Hospital for medical treatment.
Evacuation efforts were difficult to carry out at night because it was dark, the rain had not stopped, and the ground was still moving.Joint authorities and officers prioritized rescuing residents around the landslide location.
“We evacuated around 100 families from landslide-prone areas because there were concerns that further landslides would occur,” said Asep.
The plan is that the process of evacuating victims who are still buried will continue on Saturday (6/12) at 07.00 WIB, waiting for weather conditions to improve and the situation to be safer for the team in the field.
Joint officers from the Bandung Police, Koramil, sub-district government, BPBD, village officials and local residents were at the location to carry out emergency response.The situation in the affected area is currently still alert and the public is advised to remain alert to the potential for further disasters.
