and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra will be carried out by air.
According to him, sending aid cannot wait for land infrastructure to be repaired.
“Earlier we discussed with the Head of BNPB who is currently in Tarutung, to shift sending aid by air, because we cannot wait to provide aid until the land transportation infrastructure is complete,” said Pratikno at the BNPB Office, East Jakarta, Thursday (27/11).

However, Pratikno said sending aid by air would also adjust to the weather.
“Indeed, we discussed this with the BMKG, if the weather situation gets better then we will make more use of air assistance,” he said.
Pratikno said the disaster had claimed many victims. He said victim data was still being updated.
The disaster also caused extensive damage to infrastructure, especially bridges and roads.
“This has resulted in difficulties in providing assistance. But teams from all ministries have gone to the field. Currently the Head of BNPB is at the post in Tarutung, so he can also oversee its implementation later in West Sumatra as well as in Aceh and North Sumatra,” said Pratikno.
