He explained that the recommended sanctions from the results of the KY examination are currently in the process of being sent to the Supreme Court (MA).Later, the Supreme Court will decide on the imposition of sanctions against the panel of judges.
However, Abhan, who is the new KY commissioner, admitted that he had not studied the details of the recommendations. This is because Tom Lembong’s report was released in mid-2025 during the commissioner’s long term leadership.
“I haven’t studied the details, what the recommendations are, but that’s the administrative process for sending it because it’s left over from yesterday, yes, but that’s finished, just sending it to the Supreme Court,” he said.
Last August, KY received a report of alleged KEPPH violations submitted by Tom Lembong and his attorney.
Tom reported that the panel of judges at the Corruption Crime Court at the Central Jakarta District Court sentenced him to four years and six months in prison.
The panel of judges stated that Tom Lembong was proven guilty of committing a criminal act of corruption which caused state financial losses amounting to IDR 194.72 billion in the sugar import corruption case at the Ministry of Trade in 2015-2016.
However, the Minister of Trade for the 2015-2016 period then received an abolition from President Prabowo Subianto so that the criminal incident for which he had been charged was dismissed.
Tom was then released from the Cipinang Detention Center, Jakarta, on August 1 2025.
On a previous occasion, Tom said that the report he submitted to the KY was constructive with the aim of ensuring accountability from the fair interpreters in carrying out their duties.
“In accordance with my and my team’s commitment, we want to continue to fight for truth and justice for all. Not just for myself. Again, if there are irregularities, deviations, injustices, what we call negligence cannot be done. So there must be accountability and we have intentions and intentions that are completely constructive,” said Tom at the KY Office, Tuesday (21/10).
