Corruption Eradication Commission (
Corruption Eradication Commission
) submitted an investigation into the allegations
corruption
Hajj support services within the Hajj Financial Management Agency (
BPKH
) started from a public complaint report.
KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said that currently his party is reviewing and analyzing the report to focus on finding suspected criminal incidents.
On the other hand, he said that the report of alleged corruption showed a sad condition.Because, at the same time, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating an alleged corruption case related to the additional Hajj quota for implementation in 2024 at the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag).

“Of course this is also something sad when currently the Corruption Eradication Commission is also conducting an investigation related to the implementation of the Hajj as well,” said Budi at the Red and White Building, Jakarta, Thursday (20/11) evening.
He added that institutionally, both the BPKH and the Ministry of Religion provide full support to the KPK in carrying out corruption eradication work.
Apart from that, the Corruption Eradication Commission together with the Ministry of Hajj have also held hearings to discuss vulnerable points in the process of organizing the Hajj pilgrimage.
“And of course this is our homework together. Not only the Corruption Eradication Commission, but also related institutions so that we can then make more serious improvements regarding the governance of this Hajj,” said Budi.
BPKH response
BPKH respects the ongoing legal process at the KPK as referred to above.
Head of BPKH Fadlul Imansyah said that the KPK’s steps were part of a joint effort to realize clean, transparent and corruption-free governance.
“BPKH will be fully cooperative and open, including providing the data and information needed to help clarify problems,” said Fadlul in his press statement, last Wednesday (12/11).
He said that BPKH, as a law-abiding public institution, strives to always uphold the principle of presumption of innocence and completely hand over the handling of this case to the competent authorities.
On this occasion, Fadlul also emphasized BPKH’s commitment to maintaining the security and accountability of Hajj funds.
“BPKH assures all Indonesian Hajj pilgrims and the wider community that the management of Hajj funds continues professionally, safely and accountably,” he said.
“In all its activities, BPKH is strongly committed to implementing the principles of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) which include transparency, accountability, responsibility, independence and justice,” he continued.
The Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) opened an investigation into alleged corruption at BPKH related to the collection or mobilization of shipping rates.
“(The case) is separate,” said KPK Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu when confirming whether the investigation into the alleged corruption was the same as the additional Hajj quota case or not, Wednesday (12/11).
Previously, Asep said that reports of alleged corruption at BPKH had not yet reached the investigation stage. Thus, this is different from the alleged additional Hajj quota corruption case which has entered the investigation stage.
“Regarding the involvement of BPKH and others. Well, so do we, but this hasn’t been investigated yet, so it can’t be conveyed in detail,” said Asep, Monday (10/11).
This one-star police general said that the Corruption Eradication Committee received information regarding alleged corruption in collecting shipping rates for Hajj pilgrims’ goods. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will directly check the housing facilities, category and accommodation for the congregation.
“And there is also information related to sending goods, because friends, what is it called, some of our brothers and sisters who went to Hajj also sent goods and so on,” said Asep.
“Well, there is information that we received, it was also mobilized or collected, what is this like, who is the collaboration with, is it PT Pos or maybe a private company, private expedition or what? So, that’s how it is, and the use of the funds,” he added.
Asep suspects that there are differences in transportation rates and delivery of goods for the congregation.
“Because it’s like this, it’s there, it’s based on proximity, yes, it’s a place, this is one of the clues, it’s based on where you live, how far the location is from the Grand Mosque, how far from Mina, Padang Arafah in Mina, how far from there, it’s like that. The closer you get to it, the easier the transportation, the more expensive it is. Then the food menu and other things get more expensive, the better the better. The suitability of the place and so on, the more expensive it is,” he said.
