criticized North Korean officials for being lazy and irresponsible.
In the 13th plenary session of the Eighth Central Committee of the Pyongyang Workers’ Party, Kim criticized officials who were passive and had wrong ideological views.

“[Kim] strongly criticized the wrong ideological viewpoints as well as the inactive and irresponsible work attitudes of some key cadres and senior officials,” the report said

Kim was present at the plenary session of the North Korean Workers’ Party which was held on December 9-11.The meeting discussed a number of issues related to party policy as well as plans for the party congress which is scheduled to be held in early 2026.
During the meeting, Kim conveyed his evaluation of the party’s performance so far.He mentioned the party’s main achievements and expressed his criticism of a number of officials who he thought were not yet competent.
“Kim emphasized that the party needs to have greater self-confidence and courage for the future of our struggle, courageously correct shortcomings and deviations, and continue to move forward to shape the future with a unique and independent struggle,” he wrote.

On that occasion, Kim also praised North Korean soldiers who fought alongside Russia against Ukraine.
According to Kim, the soldiers had “shown to the world the prestige of our army and country as an army that is always victorious and is a true protector of international justice.”
