KGPH Hangabehi alias Mangkubumi
officially crowned as Prince Pati, aka successor to the throne
Surakarta Palace
, Thursday (13/11).
Hangabehi was crowned successor to the royal throne after the extended family of the Surakarta Palace held a meeting at the Sasana Handrawina of the Surakarta Palace.The meeting was attended by representatives of the kings of the Surakarta Palace, Sentana Dalem, and the associations supported by the Palace.
Also present at the meeting were Pakubuwana XIII’s younger siblings.Among them are the King ad interim of the Surakarta Palace, KG Panembahan Agung Tedjowulan, GRAy Koes Moertiyah Wandansari alias Gusti Moeng, and GPH Suryo Wicaksono or usually called Gusti Nenok.

“At that time there was an inauguration. The inauguration of his son Pakubuwana XIII, namely Gusti Mangkubumi, as Prince Pati or future king,” said Nenok after the meeting.
Nenok said that the situation at Sasana Handrawina had heated up after the coronation of Prince Pati.Mangkubumi’s brother, GKR Timoer Rumbay, stormed Sasana Handrawina, where the coronation was held.
“They said that this event contradicted their internal communications,” said Nenok.
Meanwhile, GRAy Wandansari or familiarly known as Gusti Moeng said that this meeting was also attended by court servants who were still loyal to the Surakarta Palace.
“What is important for us is to maintain the integrity of Sentono Dalem, all our relatives and preserve our relatives. Of course, according to our respective abilities and desires,” said Gusti Moeng.
Moeng also admitted that currently the Surakarta Palace is still under the coordination of Panembahan Agung Tedjowulan as ad interim king.
“Gusti Tedjo is an elder. So everything we do must involve him in coordinating with the government because he was assigned by the Government to be able to connect with the Traditional Council Institution and all relatives,” he said.
The coronation of Mangkubumi as Prince Pati, aka future king, is like repeating the phenomenon of twin kings that occurred at the Surakarta Palace after Pakubuwana XII died in 2004.
At that time, KGPH Hangabehi and KGPH Tedjowulan both claimed to be the successors to the leadership relay at the Surakarta Palace.
This time, the Palace was again divided into two camps.The KGPH Purbaya camp declared itself as SISKS Pakubuwana XIV shortly before sending away the body of his father, Pakubuwana XIII.
The Jumeneng Dalem Nata Binayangkare event, aka the celebration of Pakubuwono XIV’s ascension to the throne, will be held on Saturday (15/11) the day after tomorrow.
Then the KGPH Hangabehi alias Mangkubumi camp was crowned as the future king through a family meeting.
