“It has already been harvested and sold. From the initial interrogation, the marijuana was made into cigarettes,” said Bowo when confirmed, Tuesday (16/12).
Bowo explained that marijuana plants containing the psychoactive substance tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) were sold for around IDR 1.2 million to IDR 1.3 million per ounce.If calculated per kilogram, the value reaches around IDR 13 million.
For his actions, Rama was charged with multiple articles in accordance with Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, namely Article 114 paragraph 2, Article 111 paragraph 2, and Article 132.
“The threat of a minimum sentence of 6 years, a maximum of 20 years in prison, could also be life or the death penalty,” he said.
When this news was written, Rama was still undergoing intensive examination.The police are currently investigating the possible involvement of other parties in the marijuana distribution network.
Previously, the Jombang Police raided a rented house on Jalan Pakubuwono, Mojongapit Village, Jombang District, Jombang Regency, East Java, Monday (15/12), which was used to grow marijuana.
During the raid, the police arrested a man with the initials R (43), a resident from Surabaya.From inside his rented house, officers found 110 marijuana plants, dried marijuana weighing 5.3 kilograms, as well as marijuana that had been soaked in several jars.
“So today, we arrested a person with the initials R who is suspected of abusing marijuana,” said Jombang Police Chief AKBP Ardi Kurniawan at the location.
Monitoring the location, Jombang Police joint officers combed all parts of the rented house.Two of the three rooms are known to function as greenhouses for growing marijuana.Apart from that, the kitchen area and back garden of the house are also used as planting areas.
Ardi said that R had been carrying out this illegal activity of cultivating marijuana plants for at least three months.He said the suspect planted marijuana using seeds he bought online.
During that time he only had one harvest.
“The results of the perpetrator’s statement, it has been 3 months, and the seeds (seedlings) were purchased online, only one harvest,” said Ardi.
He said that the disclosure of this case was the result of the development of another perpetrator with the initials Y, who bought marijuana seeds or seeds in the Diwek District area, Jombang Regency.
