2025 in Singapore.
Jokowi said when he first became president, he looked for ways to build a strong economy for Indonesia’s 280 million people.
“We know there are no shortcuts. That’s why we focus on the basics, building roads, ports, airports, power plants and digital networks because without strong infrastructure, the economy will not be able to grow,” said Jokowi at the Bloomberg New Economy Forum 2025 in Singapore, Friday (21/11).

Indonesia, said Jokowi, has also built digital infrastructure, starting from building data centers, launching new satellites, expanding digital networks, to increasing connectivity throughout the country.
Under his rule, Indonesia introduced regulations that encouraged local businesses and
startups
to develop.
“Today, we have strong reasons why infrastructure development and regulations are essential before moving forward
intelligence economy
,” he said.
According to him, the Indonesian economy is supported by government support for digital infrastructure.He said a number of companies, such as Tokopedia, Gojek and Halodoc were proof of this.
Jokowi also boasts of Indonesia’s original payment system, namely QRIS.
“QRIS Indonesia makes digital payments easy and universal. Today, a street vendor in a small village uses the same payment system used by large companies in Jakarta,” said Jokowi.
