Surakarta Palace
is scheduled to crown the new king, namely Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Adipati Anom (KGPAA) Hamangkunegoro Sudibyo Rajaputra Narendra Mataram or Gusti Purbaya to become Pakubowono XIV today.
A number of guests were invited to attend, from the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to the King of the Yogyakarta Palace, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X.
The Sultan of Yogyakarta is said to have confirmed his presence.

The coronation committee or jumenengan king, Gusti Kanjeng Ratu (GKR) Timoer Rumbay Kusuma Dewayani said a number of figures were indeed invited.
“Yes, everyone (government elements were invited), the Mayor of Solo, the Governor, the Regional Police Chief, the Police Chief, everyone was invited. Mr Jokowi was also invited,” said Timoer as reported by detikJateng, Saturday (15/11).

Apart from the Islamic Mataram breed, the party also invited kings from the archipelago.
Timoer said that to attend today’s coronation process guests are prohibited from wearing batik with machete motifs.
“When it comes to clothing, as usual, it is customary not to wear Parang motifs,” said Timoer.
The Surakarta Palace is currently facing a struggle for the throne following the death of Pakubuwono XIII two weeks ago.
Two of Pakubuwono XIII’s children felt worthy of ascending the throne to replace their father.
Apart from Gusti Purbaya, Pakubowono’s other son, Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Haryo (KGPH) Hangabehi alias Mangkubumi, has also been crowned Prince Pati, alias successor to the throne of the Surakarta Palace.
