Umar explained that several separatist groups often take advantage of the momentum to spread exaggerated narratives.The public is asked to be careful in responding to information circulating so as not to create a dangerous situation.
He also stated that the authorities would continue to increase patrols to ensure that security dynamics remained under control.The success of security is said to not only depend on personnel but also community support from public calm.
“I hope that residents prioritize calm so that regional conditions remain conducive and are not easily disturbed by provocative issues approaching this period,” said Umar.
Jayapura Police have prepared a layered security pattern to anticipate potential disturbances ahead of December 1.Umar asked the community to work together for mutual security.
“Residents hope to cooperate when patrolling or checking because everything aims to maintain mutual security,” he said.
Security, explained Umar, still prioritizes a humanist approach so that people still feel safe and comfortable in carrying out their daily activities.
“We ensure that all members will work professionally in keeping the situation in Jayapura Regency safe,” he said again.
