Janice Tjen
responding to the recent rise in Indonesian people playing padel.
Janice said the padel trend is a good phenomenon because it encourages people to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
“Actually, it’s good, yes. So many people are interested in sports. That’s a healthy lifestyle,” said Janice in a talk show with myBCA in Jakarta, Saturday (15/11).

Padel has recently become very popular with the public.Padel is a racket sport that is played similar to tennis.
The difference is, the size of the padel court and rackets is smaller than tennis, and the padel court is covered by walls.Apart from that, there is a reflection on the wall which makes the ball still playable.
When asked whether Janice had plans to expand into padel, he admitted that he had not thought about it yet.Because, currently Janice wants to focus on her tennis career professionally.
“In the future, I will still focus on tennis. So, focusing on my career, I am also still starting with my professional tennis career, so in the future there are no thoughts of expanding into padel,” he admitted.
Janice Tjen is rising in the world of tennis.He was recently ranked 53rd in the world after winning the 2025 Chennai Open.
In fact, at the start of the year, Janice was still outside the top 400.Janice started participating in WTA category tournaments in the second semester.Previously, he was mostly active in ITF category tournaments.
Her success in reaching the second round of the US Open is one of Janice’s important achievements this year.Apart from that, she was also runner up at the Sao Paulo Open, which is a WTA 250 category tournament. Janice then closed the year by winning the Jinan Open (WTA 125) and Chennai Open (WTA 250).
