“Today, I call on Jews in England, in France, in Australia, in Canada, in Belgium: come to Israel. Go home!”Saar exclaimed.
On December 14, father and son Sajid Akram (50) and Naveed Akram (24) opened fire on a crowd of people during Jewish Hanukkah celebrations at Bondi Beach.
Australian authorities said the shooting was inspired by ISIS.Police found an ISIS flag in the car the two were using.
After this incident, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged Western governments to make maximum efforts to protect Jewish citizens.
“I call on Western governments to do what is necessary to fight antisemitism and provide the necessary safety and security for Jewish communities around the world,” Netanyahu said in a video statement.
Last month, the Israeli government also invited Indian Jews, Bnei Menashe, to live in Zionist land. This invitation was contained in the proposal submitted by Netanyahu and Israeli Immigration Minister Ofir Sofer.
Netanyahu said this step was taken to strengthen Israel’s northern region, especially the Galilee.
The Galilee is the northern region of Israel which is often the target of attacks by the Lebanese Hezbollah militia group.Tens of thousands of Israelis have left the area following the Israel-Hezbollah conflict.
