AFP on Wednesday (19/11) reported that the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported “13 people were killed and a number of others were injured” in an attack on the Ain al-Helweh refugee camp on the outskirts of the city of Sidon.
They also added that “ambulances are still transporting more injured victims to nearby hospitals.”
Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency said the attack targeted a car near the Khalid bin al-Walid Mosque.

The report there also said, “it was later reported that the [Israeli] attack also targeted the mosque itself and a center with the same name.”
The Israeli military said in a statement that it “struck a group operating in a Hamas training compound in the Ain al-Helweh region in southern Lebanon.”
The Zionists also added that they were “operating against Hamas in Lebanon.”
Israel usually says it targets operations or locations belonging to the Iran-backed Hezbollah, but it has also hit Hamas operations in Lebanon, both during hostilities and after the ceasefire.
On Tuesday (18/11), Lebanon said an Israeli attack on cars elsewhere in the south of the country killed two people.
The Israeli military did not immediately respond to AFP’s request for comment on the attack.
