Fighting in New York, Makhachev appeared dominant from the first round.He managed to achieve a unanimous victory even though he failed to knockout Della Maddalena.
In an interview after the duel, Makhachev directly mentioned Donald Trump in the octagon.He asked Trump to invite him to the White House.

“Donald Trump, come on, open the White House. I’m coming,” shouted Makhachev quoted by MMA Fighting.
Trump previously told UFC CEO Dana White that he would make the White House grounds available for UFC events.The event is planned to be held in June 2026.
Many fighters want to be on the list of fighters appearing in the historic event including former heavyweight champion John Jones and two-division UFC champion Ilia Topuria.
Makhachev also wants to be on the White House list of UFC fighters.The Russian fighter has the ambition to defend the welterweight title he won from Della Maddalena.
Makhachev also expressed his joy at winning the UFC welterweight world title.This is Makhachev’s second title after previously also successfully becoming world lightweight champion in the same event.
“This is a dream,” Makhachev said after his trainer, Khabib Nurmagomedov, slung two belts over his shoulders.
“All the hard work I have done for these two belts. I am very happy. These belts are very heavy and I like it. I worked hard for this moment. My life has changed,” Makhachev added.
