Islam Makhachev
became the new world champion in welterweight
UFC
on Sunday (16/11).
Makhachev managed to win the UFC welterweight world title from Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 322 in New York.
Makhachev appeared dominant from the first round and managed to achieve a unanimous victory (55-45, 55-45, 55-45) even though he failed to knockout Della Maddalena.

After the duel, Makhachev couldn’t express his joy after winning the UFC world title after his welterweight debut.
“This is a dream,” Makhachev said after his trainer, Khabib Nurmagomedov, slung two belts over his shoulders.
“All the hard work I have done for these two belts. I am very happy. This belt is very heavy and I like it. I worked hard for this moment. My life has changed,” said Makhachev, quoted by MMA Fighting.
Meanwhile, Della Maddalena failed to defend the UFC welterweight title which she previously won from the hands of Belal Muhammad.

This victory made Makhachev the 11th fighter to successfully win championship titles in two different classes.
