Apart from Bali, a number of other areas are also main tourist destinations, such as Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Makassar. This is in line with a survey by the Ministry of Transportation which shows that tourist destinations during the Christmas holiday include Bali, Central Java, East Java, West Java and Yogyakarta.
Widiyanti predicts that tourist movements during the Christmas holiday period this time will reach 1.45 million foreign tourists and around 128 million domestic tourist trips.Of the total movement, air transportation is projected to support the mobility of around 3.4 million passengers.
As tourist mobility increases, the government ensures the readiness of air transportation infrastructure. For this reason, he also made a working visit to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport to ensure the quality of service for tourists during the Christmas holidays.
The visit began with a review of the Main Nataru Data Integration Command Post at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. At this post, he monitors various current data, starting from passenger movements, weather forecasts, personnel needs, to potential that needs to be anticipated regarding passenger and flight services, both at domestic and international terminals.
Accompanied by the Main Director of InJourney Airports (PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia) Muhammad Rizal Pahlevi and the Commercial Director of InJourney Airports Veri Y. Setiady, the Minister of Tourism continued his inspection of Terminal 1C which now has a new face.At this terminal, Widiyanti directly observed the passenger service process, starting from check-in and baggage services, commercial areas, to waiting rooms.
He also took the time to interact with a number of passengers to hear directly about their experiences using airport services.Passengers expressed their appreciation for the improvements in facilities and perceived comfort.
“We saw that the service inside was very good. We also spoke with many passengers, they were happy and gave very positive reviews. Facilities such as toilets, prayer rooms and breastfeeding rooms are clean and well maintained,” said Widiyanti.
Previously, InJourney Airports had revitalized Terminal 1C as part of efforts to improve service quality and terminal capacity at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. This terminal combines modern design with traditional Indonesian touches, presenting a visual character that reflects national identity.
The terminal’s interior design displays a combination of modern layout with typical Terminal 1 architectural elements, such as terracotta brick and local ornaments, and is supported by the application of the latest technology in various passenger service facilities.
Meanwhile, PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Branch Office noted that during the period 15 to 21 December 2025, passenger movements had reached 1,182,490 people with a total of 7,811 aircraft movements.
On this occasion, Widiyanti also invited the public to take advantage of various government programs to encourage tourist movements during the Christmas holidays. One of them is the discount policy for domestic economy class airline tickets of 13 to 14 percent for the flight period from 22 December 2025 to 10 January 2026, with a ticket purchase period from 22 October 2025 to 10 January 2026.
“Take advantage of this plane ticket discount, including various other travel incentives such as discounts on trains, ships, toll roads and other supporting programs,” he said.
InJourney Airports President Director Muhammad Rizal Pahlevi said that the operation of Terminal 1C was designed to support smooth services during the Christmas holiday period.
