(MoU) between ASEAN and FIFA was agreed at the ASEAN Summits in Malaysia.
Leaders of ASEAN countries represented by the Secretary General (Sekjen) of ASEAN, Kao Kim Hourn, signed a memorandum of understanding with FIFA.
This tournament will be attended by 11 ASEAN member countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Brunei Darussalam and Timor Leste.
At that time, Infantino said this tournament was created to inject new enthusiasm and unify ASEAN countries through football.
