Chairman of the Indonesian Volleyball Association (PBVSI), Imam Sudjarwo, announced that the decision to remove Jiang Jie was part of a comprehensive evaluation.

PBVSI already has a replacement coach.Imam has not yet announced the name, but he explained that Jasen Natanael Kilanta and his friends will receive the polish of a coach from Brazil.
“In our evaluation, next year we will use a new coach from Brazil, so for the 2026 national team we will use a new coach formula from Brazil,” said Imam.
“Next year we will use a new coach from Brazil. Hopefully he can provide new color and motivation so that our performance will be better at the 2026 Asian Games,” he added.
Failure to become champion at the 2025 SEA Games meant that Indonesia failed to extend its record of maintaining gold.Previously, Indonesia had been the men’s volleyball champion at the SEA Games since 2019.
Indonesia also failed to repeat its success in winning four titles in men’s volleyball at the SEA Games from 1987 to 1993.
At the 2025 SEA Games, the Indonesian Men’s National Volleyball Team qualified from the group phase after beating Myanmar and the Philippines.Then they beat Vietnam in the semifinals and lost to Thailand in the gold medal match.
