Indonesia and Malaysia are collaborating to work on four
horror movie
new.The collaboration plan was announced at the Plaza Center Stage, JAFF Market last weekend.The four films are Munafik, Khurafat, Khadam, and Badut Gendong.
Munafik is the Indonesian film adaptation of Malaysia’s best-selling horror franchise which first aired in 2016.
Variety
on Friday (28/11) reported that the film had completed principal photography and was entering post-production.

The film will star Arya Saloka and Acha Septriasa and tells the story of a Ustaz experiencing a crisis of faith after the death of his wife and struggling against a demon that possessed a woman.
Munafik, directed by director Guntur Soeharjanto, was successful in Malaysia and was broadcast in Indonesia in 2016.
The second film that will see Indonesia and Malaysia collaborating is the Indonesian version of Khurafat and directed by Zahir Omar.

“By entrusting our two biggest franchises, Munafik and Khurafat, to be reworked into superior Indonesian films by top Indonesian filmmakers, we are making a bold statement.”
The third film between Indonesia and Malaysia is Khadam, which is currently in the post-production stage.The film stars Indonesian actress Aghniny Haque and Malaysian star Remy Ishak.
Directed by Shamyl Othman, Khadam tells the story of Melor who with a heavy heart inherits her family’s saka (spiritual inheritance with dark and mystical nuances) after the death of her mother.
As the saka increasingly grips her life, Melor races against time to protect her young daughter from a cruel fate as the next owner of this dark legacy.
The fourth film that was jointly produced by Indonesia and Malaysia was Badut Gendong, featuring the acting of Marthino Lio, Dayinta Melira, Clara Bernadeth and Derby Romero.The film becomes a new pillar for the expansion of the Qodrat universe.
Clown Gendong tells the story of a street clown who suddenly experiences terror through a series of tragic events.They all involve ancient traditional rituals, as well as bloody revenge in the past.
