A domestically made Tejas fighter jet
India
crashed while performing an aerial stunt at the Dubai Air Show exhibition on Friday (21/11) killing the pilot.
In a statement, the Indian Air Force (IAF) reported that it would immediately carry out an investigation into this accident.

“A tribunal of inquiry is being constituted to find out the cause of the accident,” the IAF was quoted as saying

According to a witness, the incident occurred when the jet was flying at low altitude at around 14.15 local time (10.15 GMT) before crashing and burning heavily.

A number of video recordings from the scene spread on social media showed black smoke rising behind the fenced runway.
The Dubai government shared a photo of a firefighting team extinguishing the still-steaming wreckage of the plane.They said emergency teams were handling the situation at the scene.
The crash occurred on the final day of the Dubai Air Show, the largest aviation event in the Middle East, which opened on Monday.
This is the second known accident involving a Tejas fighter jet.The first incident occurred in 2024 when Tejas fighter jets were conducting training exercises.
This fighter aircraft was assembled using engines made by General Electric and is an important part of India’s efforts to modernize its air force fleet.
So far, the Indian air force fleet is still dominated by aircraft made in Russia and the Soviet Union.
