Indonesia ended the 2025 SEA Games with a record of 91 gold, 111 silver and 131 bronze.In this way, a total of 333 medals were won by the Indonesian contingent.
Before departure, precisely at the athlete release ceremony at the State Palace, President Prabowo Subianto decided to increase bonuses for Indonesian athletes at the 2025 SEA Games.

“Minister of Youth and Sports, how about we give incentives to those who get gold medals? Oh, the budget is IDR 500 million. Can it be increased to IDR 1 billion, is that right? Is that possible? Minister of State Secretary can? Thank God,” said Prabowo at that time.
Prabowo then continued that giving bonuses is a form of appreciation for people who have contributed to Indonesia, including athletes who compete to carry Indonesia’s name.
“I’m sure you don’t compete solely for money, but from your faces you can see that getting an award like that will really help your career,” he said.
“So this is not us, yes, everything is judged by material things. No. You can’t, but you have to believe that our nation is a great nation, our nation understands, respects the services of its heroes,” said Prabowo.
Apart from announcing changes to the gold medal bonus, from IDR 500 million to IDR 1 billion, currently there has been no official announcement regarding bonus details for silver, bronze medal winners and coaches.
With the medals won, Indonesia ended the 2025 SEA Games in second place behind host Thailand.The record of 91 gold and second place exceeds the target of 80 gold and sits in third place set before departure.
