Australian Muslims have been hailed as heroes after thwarting one of the perpetrators of the shooting at Bondi Beach, Sydney, Sunday (14/12).
The man was identified as Ahmed Al Ahmed, a fruit seller on Bondi Beach who risked his life to snatch the rifle of one of the shooters in Sydney.
43-year-old Ahmed went viral on social media because his heroic action was caught on a 16-second amateur video camera.He ambushed the shooter in black who opened fire in the parking area.
This action also received global praise from US President Donald Trump to Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu.

A Hong Kong court declared Apple Daily media tycoon Jimmy Lai guilty of charges of national security and sedition, Monday (15/12).Lai was sentenced to life imprisonment.
Lai was found guilty of violating the national security law by publishing inflammatory publications in Apple Daily and colluding with foreign parties to impose sanctions on China.
The judges also said that Lai was the mastermind who designed the scenario to destabilize the Chinese government.
When reading the verdict, the judge said that Lai lobbied United States President Donald Trump in his first term.They also noted that the tycoon met with US vice president Mike Pence, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, to request a direct meeting with Trump in 2019.
However, Lai never met and spoke directly with the number one person in the White House
UN Expert Criticizes Netanyahu Blames Australia for Sydney Shooting
United Nations (UN) special rapporteur and chair of international law at the University of Sydney, Ben Saul, criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statement regarding the shooting on the Jewish day of remembrance at Bondi Beach, Sydney.
Netanyahu previously said the Australian government’s policy of recognizing Palestine provided fuel for anti-semitism in the country.Saul calls this statement disgusting.
“I find it disgusting that the Israeli PM linked Australia’s principled support for a Palestinian State to yesterday’s terrorist attack in Bondi,” he said in X.
In a post on the official account of the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, it was stated that Netanyahu blamed Australia for their policies regarding Palestine.
