Bulog Main Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani said that his party moved quickly to respond to natural disasters that hit a number of areas in Sumatra.

The board of directors went directly to the field from the first day of the emergency response period to ensure that all aid was distributed properly and to guarantee the availability of rice stocks for the affected communities.
Ahmad directly leads the coordination of disaster management in West Sumatra (Sumbar), North Sumatra (North Sumatra), and Aceh.He also ensured that all levels of Bulog worked optimally in supporting the local regional government.
“Bulog is here not only as a distributor of aid, but as part of the community. We want to ensure that support is provided comprehensively – from logistics, food availability, to moral support,” said Ahmad while visiting one of Bulog’s warehouses in West Sumatra, as quoted from an official statement, Tuesday (2/12).
Apart from checking stock conditions, Ahmad directly helped with the aid distribution process and greeted affected communities to provide moral strengthening in the midst of difficult situations.
In order to speed up handling in the three provinces, Ahmad distributed field duties to directors as well as being responsible for smooth distribution in these areas.
Procurement Director Prihasto Setyanto focuses on handling in Aceh.Director of Operations and Public Services Andi Afdal focuses on handling in West Sumatra.Then, Finance Director Hendra Susanto focused on handling in North Sumatra.
The directors’ direct presence is not only to ensure that aid runs smoothly, but also to provide encouragement to all Bulog employees in the affected areas who continue to work hard even though the environment around them is also affected by the disaster.
The directors also took the time to entertain the people at the evacuation posts, especially the children, to help reduce the psychological pressure caused by the disaster.
With fast action, solidarity and direct presence in the field, Bulog emphasizes its commitment to always be at the forefront in supporting the government and society in times of emergency disasters.
