Heimir Hallgrimsson
who has ever given praise to
Indonesian National Team
is now one of the targeted coaches for the Garuda Squad.
The name Heimir Hallgrimsson was mentioned by one of the Irish media, the Irish Examiner, as a target for the Indonesian National Team.
Hallgrimsson is the coach of the Republic of Ireland national team who is currently eyeing a ticket to the 2026 World Cup.

The Icelandic coach is not a ‘stranger’ to the Indonesian national team.Hallgrimsson was once the coach of the Icelandic national team which held trials with the Garuda squad.
The Indonesia vs Iceland friendly match took place at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK) in January 2018.
In that test match, Iceland won 4-1 over the Indonesian national team.Indonesia’s only goal was scored by Ilham Udin Armaiyn.
After the match, Hallgrimsson praised Indonesia.The 58 year old coach said that Indonesian players have good individual qualities.
“I don’t really know the Indonesian players, but we saw them from the video. Overall the Indonesian national team has many players who have high individual skills,” said Hallgrimsson at the time.
“Indonesia must make a good team from these players and I am sure the Indonesian national team can develop faster than people predict.”
Seven years after that moment, Heimir Hallgrimsson is now reportedly one of the candidates for the Red and White Team coach to replace Patrick Kluivert.
