“Yes, actually it’s fine, maybe that’s how I feel,” said Gus Yahya after attending the Coordination Meeting of PWNU Chairs throughout Indonesia at the Navator Hotel Surabaya, East Java, Sunday (23/11) early morning.
Gus Yahya admitted that he had not communicated with Gus Ipul for a very long time.He admitted that it was natural because the Secretary of State was currently busy carrying out his duties as Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
“But maybe he was too busy to never contact me. Well, I don’t know. Wow, it’s been a long time [not communicating with Gus Ipul],” he said.
Previously, the Secretary General of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board, Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) opened his voice regarding the issue of impeaching General Chairman (Ketum) Yahya Cholil Staquf or Gus Yahya.He asked all elements of the NU management to calmly respond to this matter.
The issue of impeachment was revealed through the PBNU Syuriyah Daily Meeting Minutes document dated November 20 2025 which was signed by Rais Aam PBNU KH Miftachul Akhyar.However, until now the validity of this document has not been confirmed.
Responding to this dynamic, Gus Ipul appealed to all NU administrators at all levels, from PBNU, PWNU, PCNU, MWCNU to NU Branches to be calm and maintain a conducive atmosphere.
Gus Ipul emphasized that what is happening now is an ordinary organizational matter which is being handled by the PBNU Syuriyah ranks in accordance with applicable internal mechanisms.
“This is an ongoing organizational dynamic. I ask all NU administrators and residents to remain calm, not to be carried away by misleading news, and not to increase misunderstandings,” said Gus Ipul, in his statement, Friday (21/11).
He asked all NU administrators at various levels to continue to consolidate, maintain brotherhood, and refrain from steps or statements that could worsen the situation.
“Follow all developments only through official information conveyed by PBNU Syuriyah officials. Don’t be influenced by news whose source is unclear,” he said.
The Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs added that the entire organizational process is currently in the hands of the highest authority in the PBNU structure, namely the PBNU Syuriyah ranks led by Rais Aam and two Rais Aam representatives.
“We leave it completely to Rais Aam and his representatives. God willing, everything will be resolved well, proportionally and in accordance with organizational etiquette,” he said
