Gus Yahya said this after the Coordination Meeting of PWNU Chairs throughout Indonesia at the Navator Hotel Surabaya, East Java, Saturday (22/11) evening.
“I never thought about resigning,” said Gus Yahya after the meeting, Sunday (23/11) early morning.

Gus Yahya said he was the legitimate General Chair of PBNU and received the majority of votes from NU administrators at the 34th NU Congress in Bandar Lampung 2021.
Gus Yahya is determined to complete his five-year term until 2026.
“Because I received a mandate from this Congress for five years. Yes, at the 34th Congress I received a mandate for five years. Because I will serve it for 5 years. God willing, I can do it,” he said.
Yahya Cholil Staquf or Gus Yahya is currently being hit by the issue of his impeachment from the position of General Chair of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board
The issue of Gus Yahya’s impeachment was revealed through the PBNU Syuriyah Daily Meeting Minutes document on November 20 2025. The minutes document itself was signed by Rais Aam PBNU KH Miftachul Akhyar.
