Elham explained that the broadcast that went viral on social media was an old video that had been deleted from all his official accounts.He also emphasized that the children in the video were under the supervision of their parents who regularly participated in the recitation activities he led.
“We need to convey that the video circulating is an old video and we have deleted it from all our official social media. And we also need to convey that the children in the viral video are those under the supervision of their parents who follow my recitation routine,” said Elham, quoted on Wednesday (12/11).

In his statement, Elham apologized profusely and admitted that his actions were a mistake and mistake.
“With full humility, I, Muhammad Elh Yahya Al-Maliki, personally apologize profusely to the entire community for the circulation of the video which caused a commotion. I admit that this was my personal mistake and mistake,” said Elham.
Elham admitted that he would use this incident as an important lesson to be more careful in preaching and maintaining ethics in public spaces.He also promised to improve his way of preaching in accordance with the nation’s religious and cultural values.

The Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board regrets the actions and behavior of preacher Elham Yahya Luqman or who is usually called Gus Elham.which does not reflect morals and is contrary to Islamic teachings.
PBNU Chairman Alissa Wahid said that behavior that demeans human dignity, especially towards children, is a serious violation of human values and the principle of preaching bil hikmah which characterizes Islamic preaching.

“This tarnishes the values of the da’wah itself which should set an example through its attitude and behavior to the people,” said Alissa in Jakarta, Wednesday (12/11).
