Initially, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian proposed that the cost of processing lost documents for residents affected by floods and landslides be free.
He said that many important community documents such as KTPs, diplomas, land certificates, and vehicle ownership documents were lost as a result of the disaster.

“For KTP documents under our Ministry, we have made them free, Sir. But perhaps those for diplomas from the Ministry of Education and Culture, Dasmen, then STNK-BPKB from the National Police Chief, ATR-BPN certificates, so as not to burden them, will be free,” said Tito in a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto, Aceh, Sunday (7/12) evening.
“Okay, we’ll count everything later,” answered Prabowo.
At the same time, Prabowo said he would allocate IDR 4 billion each to 52 districts/cities affected by floods and landslides in Sumatra and Aceh.
This amount is more than double Tito’s proposal of IDR 2 billion.
“For 52 city districts, right? OK, right away. Minister of Home Affairs, you asked for IDR 2 billion per district, I’ll give you IDR 4 billion,” said Prabowo.
Tito revealed that regional heads actually had an unexpected budget of IDR 34 billion, but the budget was running low as we approached the end of the year.Tito even said that there was a regional government that only had IDR 75 million remaining in funds.
Apart from districts/cities, Prabowo said the central government would also allocate funds of IDR 20 billion each for the provinces of Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra.
“For the provinces, we will calculate later, which one is the hardest? Send 20 billion. Later the governor will tell me to meet you. Is North Sumatra available? Everyone is present. Anyway, we will help,” he said.
