Golkar National Meeting Recommends Permanent Coalition & Regional Elections Elected by DPRD

produced a number of recommendations, including encouraging the existence of a permanent coalition as a form of binding political cooperation in parliament and government.
Golkar Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia said that the aim of the permanent coalition was to ensure that every strategic government policy received stable political support, speed up the decision-making process, and maintain the continuity of national development in the long term.
“Political stability is the main prerequisite for sustainable development,” said Bahlil in a press release received in Jakarta, Sunday (21/12).

He said that the permanent coalition was a transformation of the pattern of political cooperation from merely a tactical electoral coalition to the formation of an ideological and strategic coalition, based on a common platform and policy agenda.
“This Permanent Coalition was not only built to win the Presidential Election contest,” he said.
Regional elections pass through the DPRD
The Golkar National Meeting also produced a recommendation that the Regional Head Election (Pilkada) be elected through the Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD).
Bahlil said the recommendation was submitted as a form of implementing people’s sovereignty, while still emphasizing public involvement and participation in the implementation process.
“The Golkar Party proposes regional head elections through the Regional People’s Representative Council,” said Bahlil.
Regarding the implementation of elections, according to him, the Golkar Party recommends improving and perfecting the open proportional system by improving the technical aspects of implementation, administration and governance to realize honest and fair elections.
But on the other hand, Bahlil said, the Golkar Party considers it important to strengthen the role of civil society (

) as an important pillar in the implementation of democracy in Indonesia.

The Central Leadership Council (DPP) of the Golkar Party held a National Conference on Saturday (20/12) at the Golkar Party DPP Building, Jakarta to discuss internal organizational issues.
Golkar Party DPP Secretary General Muhammad Sarmuji said that the agenda this time was the National Rapimnas which was held for the first time during Bahlil’s leadership period as Chairman of Golkar.All representatives of the Golkar Party Regional Leadership Council (DPD) at the provincial level were invited to the agenda.
“Because it is more internal in nature, we did not invite external parties to attend the National Rapimnas,” said Sarmuji.
