The accident started when the Toyota Fortuner with plate number DP 1289 G, driven by the Chairman of the East Luwu DPRD, Ober Datte, was moving from Lioka towards Wawondula at medium speed.However, from the opposite direction an unknown vehicle appeared with its headlights on so bright that the victim was dazzled, resulting in an accident on Jalan Ahmad Yani, Towuti District, Wednesday (19/11) at around 20.00 WITA.
“The victim swerved to the left to avoid the lights, causing the vehicle to leave the road and enter the drainage,” he said.
As a result of this incident, the car belonging to the Chair of the East Luwu DPRD suffered damage to the front and left side, including a broken left headlight and dented bumper and body.
“The driver suffered an open wound on the right side of his head and was immediately rushed to Primaya Sorowako Hospital. The victim’s condition was conscious while receiving treatment,” he explained.
However, Taufik said that the East Luwu Police Traffic Unit was still carrying out an investigation to find out for sure the cause of the accident.
“The accident has been handled by East Luwu Police Traffic Unit personnel and examined a number of witnesses at the scene,” he said.
