Gibran gave a speech in front of dozens of world leaders while emphasizing that cooperation that empowers each other is the best method for developing the country.

In the first session of the G20 Summit, world leaders focused on discussing sustainable economic issues, the role of trade and finance in development, and debt problems in developing countries.
Recognizing this, Vice President Gibran also said that Indonesia believes that global growth must not only be strong, but also fair and inclusive, to advance every nation.
Gibran said that Indonesia welcomed the G20’s focus on sustainable finance, but its ambitions must be further to close gaps and strive for adaptation, mitigation and a just and equitable transition.
“The world needs financing that is more accessible, predictable and equitable, especially for developing countries, through debt relief, innovative financing, mixed financing and green transition mechanisms,” said the eldest son of the Seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo.
The Vice President detailed that the Indonesian Government allocated more than half of the national climate budget, around 2.5 billion US dollars per year, to support green MSMEs, agricultural insurance and climate resilient infrastructure.
Gibran himself will deliver his speech at the G20 Summit in three sessions.In the second session, the theme discussed focused on building a resilient world (

), which includes issues of disaster, climate change, just energy transition (

), as well as the food system.

Meanwhile, the third session will discuss the issue of decent work and the governance of artificial intelligence (

).The third session will also discuss critical minerals which are the proposal and focus of Indonesia’s interests at this meeting.
