Former North Konawe KPU Secretary Becomes Suspect in Pilkada Fund Corruption

) North Konawe Regency, US was named a suspect in the alleged grant fund corruption case
2024 regional elections
which caused losses to state finances amounting to IDR 1.6 billion.
“Investigators have named US as a suspect in the Pilkada grant funds case,” said North Konawe Prosecutor’s Special Investigations Head, Aswar in a release, Wednesday (10/12).
This case started when the North Konawe KPU received grant funds amounting to IDR 45 billion.However, based on the results of the case, it was found that US abused his position, so it was discovered that there had been state losses and was named a suspect.

“Based on the results of calculations, it was found that state losses amounted to IDR 1.6 billion, the funds should have been allocated for the 2024 Regional Election needs, but the suspect used them for his personal needs,” he said.
Even though he had been named a suspect, US did not attend the invitation of North Konawe Prosecutor’s Office investigators on the grounds of illness.However, the prosecutor will again summon US to be questioned as a suspect.
“Not present due to illness, but a call back will be made. If they are not cooperative, then the investigation team will take action in accordance with applicable procedures,” he explained.
As a result of his actions, the former Secretary of the North Konawe KPU, US was charged with Article 2 paragraph (1)
