Heavy rain hit Dompu Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (
NTB
) from Saturday (8/11) evening to Sunday (9/11) early morning causing
flood
in a number of regions.
The Dompu Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) said the floods submerged hundreds of residents’ houses and tens of hectares of agricultural land.

He detailed the areas affected by the flood, namely Dompu, Kempo, Woja and Hu’u sub-districts.
“In Dompu District, waterlogging occurred in Mbawi Village, Potu Village, Bada Village and Bali Satu Village. Meanwhile in Woja District, water submerged a number of points in Kandai Dua, Simpasai, Wawonduru Village, Baka Jaya and Riwo Villages,” he said.
In Kempo District, continued Muhtahun, the flood inundated 75 houses in Tolokalo Village, and in Hu’u District, seven residents’ houses in Hu’u Village were also affected.
“A temporary total of around 342 families (KK) were affected, with water levels reaching 70 centimeters in several locations,” he said.
Apart from submerging residents’ houses, the flood also inundated agricultural land in several villages.In Baka Jaya Village, it was recorded that 10 hectares of rice fields were submerged, in Wawonduru Village 50 hectares, and in Mbawi Village around 30 hectares.
“Damage also occurred on the bridge wing in Hu’u Village which collapsed six meters long and a five meter landslide on the road in Riwo Village,” he explained.
“For the time being, the floodwaters have receded, but we remain alert because BMKG predicts the potential for moderate to heavy rain accompanied by lightning could still occur in several areas of Dompu,” he added.
