High intensity rain poured down the area
Bandung Regency
on Thursday (4/12) at around 18.15 WIB triggered
flood
in a number of sub-districts.
The West Java Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that floods hit five villages/sub-districts, namely Cingcin in Soreang District;Bojongsoang in Bojongsoang District;Kamasan and Margahurip in Banjaran District;and Cangkuang Wetan in Dayeuhkolot District.
The worst hit area was in Bojongsoang with 615 housing units submerged.

Inundation also occurred in Kamasan with 80 houses, Cangkuang Wetan with 47 houses and Cingcin with 6 houses.Meanwhile in Margahurip, one house was reported to have suffered moderate damage due to strong flood currents.
The total number of affected residents reached hundreds of heads of families (KK).In detail, 615 families in Bojongsoang, 80 families in Kamasan, 47 families in Cangkuang Wetan, 6 families in Cingcin, and 1 family in Margahurip.In Cangkuang Wetan, all 47 families were forced to flee for safety.Luckily, there were no casualties in this incident.
West Java BPBD Public Relations Officer, Hadi Rahmat, said that the heavy rain caused water to overflow quickly, especially in residential areas in the lowlands.
“Currently we are still in the assessment and data collection stage at the affected locations. The water level ranges from 0 to 70 cm, but local officers and authorities are still on standby to anticipate the possibility of increased flooding,” said Hadi when contacted, Friday (5/12).
West Java Province BPBD has coordinated with Bandung Regency BPBD to carry out direct assessments in the field.This effort was carried out to ensure the need for further assistance and mitigation for residents affected by the disaster.
