) stated that hundreds of residents’ houses were submerged
flood
as a result of the Batang Lembang River’s water discharge increasing after heavy rain flushed the area.
Chief Executive of BPBD Solok City, Edrizal in Solok, said that due to the high rainfall over a long period of time, it caused the water discharge in the Batang Lembang River flow area to rise, and inundated road access and residents’ houses.
Based on information received by BPBD, flooding occurred in Tanah Garam Village, KTK Village and Koto Panjang Village, and Sinapa Piliang.Meanwhile, fallen trees occurred in Kampung Jawa and Tanah Garam sub-districts.

The number of residents affected by the flood in Tanah Garam Village is 480 families with 973 people in 330 houses, of which 62 are toddlers and 31 are elderly.In KTK Village, 51 families with 188 people were affected and there were 11 toddlers and 8 elderly people.
“In Koto Panjang Village there are 9 families with a total of 41 people and there are 5 toddlers and 3 elderly people and in Sinapa Piliang Village there are 18 families with a total of 73 people, of which there are 15 toddlers and 20 elderly people,” said Kalaksa, quoting

“The total affected is 559 families with a total of 1279 people, of which 93 are toddlers and 62 are elderly,” he added.
Apart from flooding, handling of fallen trees was also carried out in Kampung Jawa Village.It hit the house of a resident named Asmi Akmal.Currently cleaning has been carried out but it is not yet optimal.
Meanwhile in Tanah Garam, it hit electricity cables and covered residents’ road access but it has been cleaned up completely.
“Fortunately there were no casualties in this incident, but one house was slightly damaged and the other was heavily damaged,” he said.
Until now, officers are still collecting data and monitoring locations that are prone to flooding.
“We have coordinated with the relevant OPD, such as village heads and local residents. Currently our officers are still in the field evacuating affected victims,” he said.
Currently, residents need cleaning equipment, basic necessities, family children, mattresses and blankets.BPBD urges residents to continue to be vigilant considering the ongoing rain conditions.
