) the whereabouts of the devastating fire that hit seven apartments in Tai Po, Hong Kong last week is unknown.
The Indonesian Consulate General noted that there were 140 Indonesian citizens living and working in the Wang Fuk Court housing complex.As of Sunday (30/11) at 23.00 local time, they reported that 9 Indonesian citizens had died and one was still being treated in hospital.

In an official release, the Indonesian Consulate General stated that they prioritize the safety and welfare of Indonesian citizens.
So far, the Indonesian Consulate General has also identified and verified information related to Indonesian citizens, interacted directly with those affected, and distributed aid (food, sanitation equipment);speed up passport issuance;open temporary shelter at the Consulate General office;and opened an aid station at the Tai Po Community Center.
Apart from that, the Indonesian Consulate General has communicated with the families of Indonesian citizens who died in this tragedy and is committed to ensuring their rights are fulfilled in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
“The Indonesian Consulate General also facilitated the process of returning the bodies to Indonesia,” they continued.
The Indonesian Consulate General continues to coordinate intensively with the Hong Kong Police (HKPF), other local authorities and other related parties, including to identify Indonesian citizens whose whereabouts are still missing or unknown.
A fire broke out at an apartment building complex in Wang Fuk Court, Tai Po, northern Hong Kong on Wednesday afternoon.As a result of the fire, 146 died.
The incident was one of the deadliest fires in decades in Hong Kong, a region with some of the world’s tallest and most densely populated apartment blocks.
When the fire occurred, a number of buildings were being renovated and there was a lot of bamboo scaffolding as part of the construction.
Until now the cause of the fire is still being investigated.According to the initial investigation, officers found styrofoam inside the building.
Authorities said the styrofoam caused the fire to spread more quickly within the block and burned apartments through the corridors.
