AFC indicated
FIFA
will find the culprit behind the problem of fake documents of naturalized players at the Malaysian Football Association (
FAM
).
AFC Secretary General, Datuk Seri Windsor Paul John, said that FIFA would carry out an investigation into FAM regarding fake documents for naturalized players.
FIFA has given punishment to FAM and the seven problematic players in the form of sanctions and a ban from playing for a period of one year.

FAM has appealed to FIFA, but was rejected by the world football body.Now, after receiving a written explanation from FIFA, FAM is trying to appeal via CAS.
At the same time, Windsor reminded FIFA that it would carry out an investigation.According to Windsor, FIFA will find out various things about fake documents, such as the person handling them, the submission of documents, and even systemic negligence.
“This part hasn’t even started yet. What you see now is a disciplinary case. The other cases only started when FIFA started their investigation,” Windsor was quoted as saying by The New Straits Times.
“The first case is about the match. The second is responsibility,” he added.
The AFC also hopes that FIFA can summon senior FAM officials and other key figures after the second stage of the process begins.
Windsor said the FAM issue needed to be resolved by March 31 to align with the Asian Cup qualifying cycle, regarding the possibility of Malaysia being sanctioned in the qualifying event.
AFC also hopes that FIFA and CAS can speed up the trial after FAM officially submits an appeal.
