M Farhan said Deputy Mayor of Bandung Erwin was being treated in hospital.
Erwin was previously announced by the Bandung City District Prosecutor’s Office (Kejari) as one of the suspects in alleged corruption crimes (Tipikor).
“According to reports, that’s how it is. He is being treated at RSUD Kiawari [RSUD Bandung City]. I am waiting for the diagnosis report because I am not an expert,” said Farhan to journalists at the Bandung City Hall, Thursday (11/12) afternoon.

He said he had not visited because he was still waiting for official permission to avoid causing prejudice.
Farhan also revealed that the last communication with Deputy Mayor Erwin occurred several weeks ago before his Umrah departure and shortly after his return.He admitted that the news of the legal status determination brought his own sadness.

Regarding Erwin’s status as Deputy Mayor after the suspect’s determination, Farhan said that the process is now in the hands of the central government.
“The Prosecutor’s Office will provide notification and permission to the Ministry of Home Affairs. Later, the Ministry of Home Affairs will determine the status,” said Farhan.
Regarding the possibility of legal assistance from the government, he emphasized that he was still waiting for the applicable regulations, while stating that every citizen has the right to choose their own legal assistance.

On that occasion, Farhan ensured that all public services and government operations in the City of Bandung continued to run normally amidst the legal process currently being faced by the Deputy Mayor of Bandung, Erwin.

Previously, the Bandung Prosecutor’s Office named Erwin and a member of the Bandung DPRD from the NasDem faction, Rendiana Awangga, as suspects in a case of alleged abuse of authority within the Bandung City Government in 2025.
“Based on two pieces of evidence, Tipidsus named two suspects. One E is the active Deputy Mayor of Bandung, the suspect RA is a member of the Bandung City DPRD,” said Head of the Bandung District Prosecutor’s Office (Kajari), Irfan Wibowo, at a press conference in Bandung City, West Java, Wednesday (10/12).
According to Irfan, the suspects are suspected of abusing their power by requesting projects from a number of SKPDs as well as arranging the appointment of providers.He emphasized that the investigation is still developing and opens up the possibility of other suspects.
The projects that are suspected to be problematic are spread across several SKPDs within the Bandung City Government.
For their actions, the two suspects were charged with the Corruption Article which is directly related to the motive for abuse of authority.
Both are subject to Article 12 letter e of the Corruption Law in conjunction with Law 20/2001 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 of the Criminal Code subsidiary Article 15 in conjunction with Article 12 letter e of the Anti-Corruption Law.
